Why does it rain? Does it rain because the heavens are sad and crying down on us because we can't live in peace with each other? Can't help each other out because we are constantly thinking of ourselves and our self benefit. Or is Jesus making an attempt to wash away the sins of the world, one storm at a time. In that case, think about it. It will be raining for a long time. That's something to think about.
